Forest School

Year One do not have Forest School this term. We will have opportunities to use the outdoors in our learning and school uniform will be adequate clothing for these.
We will inform you if a planned activity requires your child to have extra clothing or wellies.

PE - Mondays & Fridays

PE is an important part of the children’s physical development and wellbeing. We want to maximise the time that the children have for their PE lesson by asking children to come to school already dressed in their PE kit on the days they have a PE lesson.

When the weather is cooler, the children can wear black jogging bottoms or black leggings instead of shorts. Please ensure your child has a suitable pair of shoes for PE and the school day – trainers will be allowed. Plimsolls may not be suitable to wear all day if the weather is wet or cold.

Children should wear their school jumper/cardigan over their PE kit.

Children who attend an after-school club on their non PE day will need to bring in a suitable kit to change into for the club if required.

There may be special events or occasions we ask children to wear their uniform on a PE day e.g. school photo day. We will contact families if there is any change.

Home Learning

Each Tuesday, a pack of 2 reading books will be allocated for you to keep at home. Please make sure that they are returned on the following Monday to give us time to monitor and change them. You will also be able to access online RWInc texts and quizzes. We change reading books once a week on Monday.

In Key Stage 1 we have a book for Home Learning. Spellings, number facts and a choice of activities will be emailed each Friday. The activities encourage practise and consolidation of an area of class learning or further research into an area of interest. We hope that this will provide an opportunity for you to share in your child’s learning. Please return the Home Learning books to school each Wednesday.
